Hopefully, this is a trend that will continue.<\/p>\n<p>Another small, less sophisticated, example I ran across is the Alaska <a href=\"http:\/\/www.state.ak.us\/local\/akpages\/ADMIN\/dmv\/\">Division of Motor Vehicles<\/a>. A recent visit to their new Benson Boulevard location was made very efficient by their new &#8220;take a number, then sit down and watch an Alaska nature film&#8221; approach (as opposed to the old &#8220;stand in the never-moving line&#8221; system previously used), with the TV monitors showing the customer number now being served. Of course, my visit would have been even more efficient had I known about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.state.ak.us\/local\/akpages\/ADMIN\/dmv\/DMVwebcams.htm\">DMV Office Web Cams<\/a> before I left the office!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jon Udell describes the new Delta flight information system &#8211; it&#8217;s something that I always thought should be available, and I&#8217;m glad to see it finally happening.
