Long ago, while attending the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/\">University of Washington<\/a> I lived in a house off campus, and <a href=\"http:\/\/seattlepi.nwsource.com\/horsey\/\">David<\/a> lived in the house next door along with a couple of other students, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/presspass\/exec\/peterri\/default.asp\">Peter Rinearson<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charlesrcross.com\/\">Charlie Cross<\/a>, who all worked on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedaily.washington.edu\/\">The Daily<\/a>, the University&#8217;s student newspaper.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/seattlepi.nwsource.com\/horsey\/\">David<\/a> was awarded the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.123awards.com\/PULITZER\/1999.asp\">1999 Pulitzer prize for editorial cartooning<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/presspass\/exec\/peterri\/default.asp\">Peter<\/a> won a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.123awards.com\/PULITZER\/1984.asp\">1984 Pulitzer prize for feature writing<\/a>, co-authored Bill Gates&#8217; first book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0670772895\/craiglog\">The Road Ahead<\/a>, and is now a corporate vice president at Microsoft .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.charlesrcross.com\/\">Charlie<\/a> went on to become the editor of <i>The Rocket<\/i>, a highly regarded Northwest music and entertainment magazine, and has authored 4 books: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0786865059\/craiglog\">Heavier Than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0825672007\/craiglog\">Nevermind: Nirvana<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0517573997\/craiglog\">Backstreets Spingsteen: The Man and His Music<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0517583089\/craiglog\">Led Zeppelin: Heaven and Hell: An Illustrated History<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While exploring the Professional Cartoonists Index mentioned in my last posting I ran across the link to the cartoons of David Horsey.
